Dirty Bike Night

So as planned I went out with my mate Trev who rides mountain bikes down tracks fast, through tight rock tracks and jumps in the air from one thing to another. It was a really sweet afternoon with the sun blazing through the trees and then turning the temp down in the late afternoon into the night.

Setting up the exposure was always a pain as the light would change in a second and i would have to run up to the flashes and swap the settings around. I got a work out and i wasn’t hiking a 15kg bike back up the hill.

So we hit a few jumps and rock gardens and had a good chat about the whole mountain biking thing as its not like skating or snowboarding when you can hear people cheering on their friends or laughing in the distance. Its super serious and all thoughts are on not potentially dying.

 

And then we realized that it was getting dark super quick and we where at the bottom of the track and we had to walk back to the cars. The only downside to this was the walk back through the bush in the dark. Sort of like the Blair Witch but not as stupid.

Walked through a good amount of spider webs in the dark which is always fun. Next time we are going to shoot some high speed berm shots as we found a nice spot to shoot next time.

 

My legs are sore now.

Going Bush

This week I’m going out again with my boy Trev to shoot in the bush in North Sydney. Trev has gotten a heap better since I went out and shot him dropping in on some of the ladder runs. This week we are going to shoot on some of the jumps I think so thats going to be a heap of fun.

Might setup a rim light around the jumps and see what I can come up with. Also will bring bug spray as I’m so not siked to get eaten alive by strange blood sucking insects.

Stuff like this is great because I get to use my 70-200mm 4.L. I feel like a sniper in the bushes snapping off charlie in the trees. Will wear combat gear as it actually does help with the pockets and tuff material.

Transworld Surf FPA

This should be on the stands now. Pretty happy how it turned out but there is always something that i hate about it.
Regardless imm happy that i have a FPA in an international magazine.

Damien Wills is a rad dude and was siked that i got his old Jag in the shot as well.
Shot with 2 guns hooked up to PW’s. Super basic setup but made it just pop that little bit more.

I still hate sand.
